Jana Hryhorivna Katschur ( Ukrainian Яна Качур , English transcription Yana Kachur; born January 13, 1997 in Hajworon ) is a Ukrainian sprinter who specializes in the 200-meter run .

Athletic career

For the first time at an international championship, Jana Katschur entered the World Youth Championships in 2013 in Donetsk over 400 meters and was eliminated there in the first round with 56.00 s. In 2014 she could not qualify for the A final at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing , but then won the B final over 400 meters. In 2016 she took part over 100 meters in the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz , where she reached the semi-finals and finished fifth with the Ukrainian relay team. In 2017 she won the bronze medal in the 200 meters at the U23 European Championships and also with the Ukrainian 4 x 400 meter relay . With her achievements, she also qualified for the World Championships in London . In the individual competition she was eliminated with 23.47 s in the preliminary round and could not qualify for the final over 4 x 100 meters with the Ukrainian relay .

In 2018 she qualified for the first time for the European Championships in Berlin , where she was eliminated with 24.00 s in the first round. Even with the Ukrainian relay, 43.90 seconds were not enough for the final. The following year she took part in the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow over 60 meters , but was eliminated there with 7.52 s in the first round. Then she failed at the World Relays in Yokohama with the 4 x 100 meter relay with 44.55 s in the lead and also at the U23 European Championships in Gävle she was eliminated with 24.18 s over 200 meters in the first round and took fourth place with the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 34.33 min. At the end of October, she reached the semi-finals over 200 meters at the World Military Games in Wuhan , in which she could not finish her run. Over 100 meters she failed with 11.98 s in the preliminary round and with the 4 x 100 meter relay she finished fourth in 44.64 s.

In 2019 Katschur became Ukrainian indoor champion in the 60-meter run.
