The German Alpine Association Section Augsburg e. V. (short DAV section Augsburg ) is a section of the German Alpine Club in Augsburg . Founding history
After founding the German Alpine Club on May 9, 1869 in Munich, the two members Theodor Lampart and Friedrich Schenkenhofer set about founding their own section in Augsburg. With the help of a newspaper appeal, 40 men could be found who then took part in the founding meeting on July 8, 1869. Otto Forster was appointed 1st chairman. The declared aim of the association was to expand and disseminate knowledge of the Alps and to facilitate their travel.
