The Augsburger Biwak (also Roland-Ritter-Biwak ) is a bivouac box of the Augsburg section of the German Alpine Club in the Lechtal Alps in Tyrol , Austria .

location

The bivouac box is about halfway along the Augsburger Höhenweg in the Parseierscharte at an altitude of 2608  m above sea level. A. northeast of Flirsch . A possible emergency descent from the Höhenweg over the Flirscher Parseier to Flirsch begins at the bivouac in 2.5 hours.

Furnishing

The Augsburg bivouac is a pure emergency shelter, it only offers four makeshift camps and no cooking facilities.

history

The first wooden emergency shelter erected at this point by the Augsburg section was built in 1908 and fell into disrepair after the First World War. In 1969 a plastic construction was erected, but it was not sufficiently weatherproof and had to be dismantled in 1974 because of its poor condition. In 1976 today's tubular steel sheet construction was assembled in the valley, flown to the Parseierscharte in a helicopter and anchored there.

In 1985, the Augsburg section renamed the bivouac box, after its honorary member and long-time secretary, the Ronald Ritter bivouac . However, it is still listed as an Augsburg bivouac in the official hut directories of the Alpine clubs .

Entrances and transitions
