The Stuttgarter Hütte is an Alpine Club hut belonging to the Swabian section of the German Alpine Club in the Lechtal Alps . It is located in Tyrol just on the border with Vorarlberg in Austria .
location
The Stuttgarter Hütte, built in 1910, is located at 2310 m a little south of the Krabachjoch, over which the border between the federal states of Tyrol and Vorarlberg runs. The hut is supplied from the west side of Vorarlberg via a material ropeway built in 1962 from the Zürser Trittalp.
history
The construction of the hut was completed in 1910, but the hut had to be demolished in 1931 due to its dilapidation.
The second Stuttgarter Hütte was inaugurated in 1936, followed by a material ropeway in 1962 and another restaurant in 1964.
In 1987, after a strong storm, the tin roof, which had been badly deformed, had to be replaced. A new tenant apartment was also built and the sanitary facilities renovated.
On February 26 and 27, 1990, the storm Wibke destroyed the roof of the guest room and the chimney, masses of snow penetrated the winter room, cable car station, kitchen area, guest room and storage rooms, which led to mold growth.
Accesses
- The easiest access is from Lech with the cable car to the Rüfikopf and on the marked path through the Ochsengümple and over the Rauhekopfscharte, 2 hours

- from Lech via the Wösterjoch and the Rauhekopfscharte, 4½ hours

Neighboring huts and crossings
- to the Ulmer hut over the Vallugaschulter and the Valfagehrjoch , Schrofen with rope insurance, approx. 3½ hours. The summit of the Valluga can be "taken with you", marked path, Schrofen, approx. 1 hour more effort.
- to the Ulmer hut via the Trittscharte, 3 hours. The section at the Trittscharte is very problematic in late summer / autumn due to the bare ice of the Pazielferner without crampons. In addition, an unstable block slope was exposed due to the glacier retreat below the notch (as of September 2012).
- to the Leutkircher hut over the Erlijoch and through the Stapfetobel.
- to the Ravensburger Hütte in the Lechquellen Mountains , descent to Zürs and then over the Madlochjoch to the hut, 4 hours
