The Heiterwandhütte is an alpine club hut of the Upper Neckar section (based in Rottweil ) of the German Alpine Club in the Lechtal Alps , Tyrol , Austria . It is a self-catering hut and accessible all year round with the help of an Alpine Club key.

The Heiterwandhütte is located at an altitude of 2020 m above sea level. A. on the Grubeggjoch, south of the eastern summit of the Heiterwand .
history
The hut was built in 1911/12 and opened in 1912. The builder was the DuÖAV section Anhalt based in Dessau .
After the Second World War, the Upper Neckar section, based in Rottweil, took over the sponsorship of the hut, as the German Alpine Club and its sections in the GDR were not approved.
After the old hut was destroyed by a dust avalanche in 1971 , a new building was built in 1972.
