The Wolfratshauser Hütte is an alpine club hut of the Wolfratshausen section of the German Alpine Club in the Lechtal Alps , Tyrol , Austria .

location

The Wolfratshauser Hütte is located 1753  m north of the Grubigstein on a grass ridge.

history

The hut was built in 1921 and officially opened on October 1st. As early as the following year, the hut was managed by a Lermoos innkeeper and the first extensions (winter area) were carried out. Due to the increased inflation , this extension cost four times as much as the entire hut construction two years earlier.

During the Second World War, alpine tourism came to a standstill, and even after 1945 the now unmanaged and unsupervised hut fell into disrepair due to existing travel restrictions and economic bottlenecks, until the renovation of the building could begin in 1953. The flow of visitors that began again in the period that followed made it necessary to expand the hut as early as 1960. In 1962 the construction of the material ropeway followed and from 1968 to 1970 additional structural extensions.

In 1998/99 the hut was connected to the Lermoos sewage network under pressure from the district administration in Reutte, and at the same time a power line was laid down into the valley together with the sewer. Shortly afterwards, a general renovation of the building was necessary again, as the tenant apartment, the roof, the sanitary facilities and the kitchen in particular were in a desolate condition. The hut remained closed in the 2004 summer season due to construction work.
