The Augsburger Hütte is an alpine club hut of the Augsburg section of the German Alpine Club in the Lechtal Alps , Tyrol , Austria .
location
Until 1891 at an altitude of 2289 m above sea level. A. built Augsburger Hütte is located on a viewing platform on the southern slope of the Gatschkopf .
history
On August 8, 1885, the first Augsburger Hütte at the so-called Salzplatz , around 50 meters above the current location, was put into operation by the section. It was the first alpine hut in the Lechtal Alps . An avalanche destroyed the building on April 17, 1888, so that the members had to build new accommodation (completed in 1891). Between 1987 and 1992 the hut was completely renovated and expanded.
Accesses
- von Grins , 3 hours, ascent on the southern slope
Neighboring huts and crossings
- To the Ansbacher Hütte via the Augsburger Höhenweg , 8 to 10 hours. This path is a long and demanding high-altitude path, which can cause problems even for experienced people in poor conditions, especially the ice on the northern slopes to be crossed. Inexperienced hikers should definitely only undertake the path in the company of experienced mountain hikers or guides.
- To the Memminger Hütte via the Spiehlerweg , 5 hours. First either directly through the Gasill Gorge or - recommended - over the Gatschkopf to the Patrolscharte . Over Steilschrofen, long passages secured by ropes, down to the remains of the Patrolferner. Then over the Parseierjoch, the deepest point of the middle ridge (rope insurance), over the Wegscharte and past the Seewiseen to the Memminger Hütte. When it is wet, fresh snow or icy conditions, the descent from the Patrolscharte can be difficult. For inexperienced people - even in good conditions - we definitely recommend the company of experienced mountain hikers or a guide.
- The route to the Württemberger Haus goes over the Großkopf in 8 hours.
summit
- Parseierspitze , 3,036 m , highest mountain in the Lechtal Alps and the only 3,000- meter peak in the Northern Limestone Alps, 3.5 hours, climbing difficulty II
- Dawinkopf , 2968 m , second highest mountain in the Lechtal Alps, highest peak directly on the Augsburger Höhenweg, 3.5 hours, climbing difficulty level I.
