The Muttekopfhütte is an alpine club hut of the Imst-Oberland section of the Austrian Alpine Club in the Lechtal Alps , Tyrol , Austria . It is located at 1934  m above sea level. A. southeast of the Muttekopf . It can be reached from Imst and the Untermarkter Alm in 1½ hours or from the mountain station of the Alpjoch chairlift in 30 minutes.

Neighboring huts and crossings

  • To the Hanauer Hütte via Muttekopfscharte, Kübelwand and Galtseitenjoch, heavily used, 6 hours.
  • To the Anhalter Hut via the Scharnitzsattel, Hahntennjoch (crossing the road) and the Steinjöchl, rope insurance and staples on the Scharnitzsattel, 4½ hours.
  • To the Steinseehütte through the Larsennkar, little used, varied, long (according to the AV guide 6 hours, rather longer), requires a look at the terrain.

  • Muttekopf ( 2777  m ), marked trail, normal ascent, can be easily combined with the transition to the Hanauer Hütte, wide view from the summit.
  • front Platteinspitze ( 2565  m ), steep climb, in places with safety devices, varied
  • Maldonkopf ( 2632  m ), Imster via ferrata.
  • Pleiskopf ( 2560  m ), Ödkarlekopf ( 2565  m ), Laggers ( 2328  m ), Imster Höhenweg, marked, but sometimes demanding climb, very long hike!
  • Vorderes Alpjoch ( 2121  m ), on the 'Drischelsteig' to the mountain station of the Alpjoch chairlift and in 10 minutes on a good climb to the summit.
  • Hinteres Alpjoch ( 2425  m ), from the front Alpjoch on a marked trail. The transition to the Pleiskopf is possible for the experienced, marked, but alpine experience required!
  • Hinterer Scharnitzkopf ( 2554  m ), accessible from the Scharnitzsattel ( 2441  m ) on steep tracks with a short, easy climbing area, not marked! Can be 'taken along' at the Muttekopf-Anhalter Hütte transition.
