The Spiehlerweg is a high alpine trail in the Lechtal Alps , Tyrol , Austria . It is named after Anton Spiehler , the main developer of this mountain range , and connects the Memminger Hütte with the Augsburger Hütte . The walking time is about five hours, the ascent to the Patrolscharte is via Schrofen and is rope insured over long distances.

Route

Described from the Memminger Hütte to the Augsburger Hütte: First on an easy climb past the Seewiseen to the Wegscharte, 2585 m. After a steep descent of about 100 meters, secured with a wire rope, continue on a marked path in an arc to the southwest towards the middle ridge. Over the Parseierjoch (2560 m) called the lowest point of the middle ridge (rope insurance) and further over the remains of the Patrolferner to the steep slopes of the Patrolscharte . Over the Schrofen, long passages with rope insurance, to the Patrolscharte (2845 m). From here on good slopes either directly through the Gasill Gorge or - recommended - over the Gatschkopf (2945 m) to the Augsburger Hütte. A total of around 800 meters of ascent and descent, depending on whether the Gatschkopf is "taken" (100 meters of additional effort).
