Location and surroundings

The closest places are Bichlbach in the northwest, Lermoos in the northeast and Biberwier in the east. The Fernpass is located south of the summit .
Ascent
Experienced mountaineers can cross the ridge, which is around three kilometers long, on a secured path in the summer months.
- Over the east ridge
From Grubigstein (here quickly with the mountain railway) over some ridge heads and across a steep craggy flank to a wide grass ridge, which conveys the pebbly upswing to the summit. Easiest route, but surefootedness and a head for heights are already required. 1.5 hours from the mountain station
- Over the west ridge
From Bichlbächle or from Fernpass to Bichlbächler Jöchle, there over a steep scree slope and a wide grass ridge to the western summit of the Gartnerwand. Now down a little more demanding, then across the very steep southern flank and over crags and flat cracks ( difficulty I ) up again to the main summit. 4 hours from Bichlbächle
- Over the north ridge
From Sommerbergjöchle (here from Bichlbächle or Lermoos-Obergarten, for example) with the help of some iron steps and wire ropes over the brittle and scree north ridge (II) to the north summit and from there quickly to the main summit. 3 hours from Bichlbächle, 4 hours from Obergarten
