history
In the course of time different place names appeared: 1808 Zimánd , 1888 Fakert , 1913 Zimándújfalu and Zimandul Nou , 1923 Zimandu Nou .
Zimandu Nou was founded in 1852 by the settlement of 1032 Hungarian tobacco farmers from Csernovics-Ujfalu (Hungary). These originally came from the chair district of Nayrad, in northern Hungary (today: Slovakia). After the tobacco plantation in Csernovics-Ujfalu was closed, they settled on the area of Zimandu Nou.
As a result of the land reform of March 23, 1945 , the landlord Hans Kintzik was expropriated and the agricultural state cooperative "Scânteia" was founded. In 1949 the landlord Robert Zelinski was expropriated, which resulted in the establishment of the state agricultural cooperative "Utvinis". The agricultural production cooperative in Zimandu Nou was founded in 1952.
