Horst Geisel

Horst Geisel (born July 25, 1933 in Schwalmtal-Hopfgarten , † May 8, 1985 in Alzey ) was a German journalist and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Geisel attended elementary school and secondary school. He then trained as a journalist and editor. From 1956 he was an honorary and 1957–1968 full-time state representative of the Volksbund for Peace and Freedom e. V. Rhineland-Palatinate, 1968–1970 editor of the Rheinhessische Landeszeitung in Oppenheim and from 1971 journalist for press, radio, news agency and sports press.

1957 Geisel joined the CDU. In the party he was from 1965 chairman of the CDU district association Alzey and 1969 Alzey-Worms and 1969–1971 member of the CDU district committee Rheinhessen-Pfalz. 1960–1965 he was deputy district chairman of the Junge Union Rheinhessen and 1960–1962 deputy chairman and 1962–1965 chairman of the Junge Union district association Alzey.

From 1964 to 1969 he was a member of the district committee and in 1969 first district deputy Alzey-Worms. In 1972 he became mayor of the Wörrstadt community.

In 1963 he was elected to the fifth state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate , to which he belonged for three terms until 1975. In the fifth electoral term, he was a secretary and a member of the petitions committee. In the sixth term he was a member of the Committee on Petitions and Legal Affairs, and in the seventh term he was a member of the Committee on Home Affairs and Legal Affairs. In 1964 he was a member of the 4th Federal Assembly .

In addition, he was a member of the board of directors of the Alzey-Worms community college, the Middle Rhine cycling association and the Rhineland-Palatinate-Saar state hockey association, and a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state sports conference.
