Romualdas Juknys

Romualdas Juknys (born October 20, 1943 in Šiauliai ) is a Lithuanian ecologist, forest scientist and professor .

Life

1957 graduated Juknys the 7-year-old school in Siauliai, 1961, the forestry technical center in Vilnius and in 1970 the diploma study of forestry engineering at the Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija . After postgraduate he received his doctorate in 1975 at the LŽŪA through pine forests on "Optimalaus apskaitos aikštelių dydžio ir jų išdėstymo tyrimai Lietuvos TSR pušynuose". In December 1990, Juknys pine forests completed his habilitation on the subject of "Užterštoje aplinkoje augančių vienaamžių pušynų augimo eiga ir productyvumas" in ecology at the Sukachev Institute in Russia . From 1970 to 1993 he was a research assistant at the LŽŪA. From 1985 to 1987 and 1990 he headed the forest monitoring laboratory . From 1991 to 1993 he worked at the Department of Environmental Protection as head of a department and taught at the LŽŪA. From 1993 he headed the chair for environmental studies. From 1994 he taught as a professor .

Juknys was a member of the Sąjūdis and the Lietuvos žalioji partija party .
