Ronald Alexander "Ron" Fischer (born April 12, 1959 in Merritt , British Columbia ) is a former German - Canadian ice hockey player who from 1984 to 1996 in the ice hockey Bundesliga and in the DEL for the SC Riessersee and SB Rosenheim and the German National ice hockey team played.

Career

He began his career in 1978 in the Western Hockey League with the Edmonton Oil Kings . In 1980 he was committed to the Buffalo Sabers , for whom he was used in the NHL , but mainly he was used in the AHL until 1983 with their farm team, the Rochester Americans .

In 1984 he moved to Garmisch-Partenkirchen for SC Riessersee , where he played for two years. After this time he was allowed to be used as a German-Canadian and no longer occupied a quota place for foreign players. Under these conditions he switched to SB Rosenheim (later Starbulls Rosenheim ) in 1986 . Until the end of his career in 1996 he played for Rosenheim, both as a defender and as a striker.

Fischer also played for the German national ice hockey team .

His sons Alex and Sean Fischer are also ice hockey players.
