Ronald B. Evans

Ronald B. Evans (born July 7, 1939 , † March 9, 2007 in Melbourne ), called Ron Evans , was an Australian football player and official .

Evans attended Caulfield Grammar School in Melbourne. For the Essendon Football Club he played 64 games from 1958 to 1962 and scored 210 goals. He received the Coleman Medal , which is awarded to the most successful goalkicker of the top Australian league ( Victorian Football League ) every year. From 1963 to 1965 Evens played at West Perth Football Club , scoring 271 goals in 60 games. From 1988 he was President of Essendon Football Club for 4 years. From 1998 to February 2007 he was President of the Australian Football League (AFL).

Ron Evans holds a BSc and MBA degree and was director of the catering and cleaning company Spotless from 1992 to 2004.

In 2006 Evans was named a Member (AM) of the Order of Australia .
