The Ronald Hill is a 105 m high, rocky and ice-free hill on Deception Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It rises north of Kroner Lake .
The Norwegian geologist Olaf Holtedahl mapped, photographed and named him in the course of the first Antarctic voyage with the Norvegia (1927–1928) financed by the Norwegian whaling entrepreneur Lars Christensen . It is named after the SS Ronald , a factory ship of the British Hektor Whaling Company , which was anchored for whaling off Deception Island for many years from 1911 .
