history

The music label Rondeau Production was founded in 1977 by Herbert Lange and Karl-Friedrich Beringer , directors of the Windsbacher Boys' Choir , in Windsbach in Central Franconia. Frank Hallmann (journalist and graduate church musician ) has been managing director since 1996 . Rondeau Production produces and sells recordings of classical music with a focus on sacred choral music worldwide .

repertoire

In May and June 2005, Rondeau Production, now based in Leipzig, expanded its range to include CDs by the St. Thomas Boys Choir and the Hanover Boys Choir . Since then, other choirs, ensembles and solo artists have been added to the catalog. The label has had an audio suite with its own sound engineers since 2010 . Naxos Germany is responsible for the nationwide distribution of CDs and DVDs in specialist shops.

Since 2012, Rondeau Production has been cooperating with the Klanglogo label founded by Nick and Clemens Prokop , which has enabled the labels to expand their musical spectrum.

Awards

In 2006 the label for the CD production Verleih uns Frieden - Geistliche Vokalmusik by Andreas Hammerschmidt (ROP7001) with the Hanover Boys Choir under its conductor Jörg Breiding received the ECHO Klassik in the category a cappella / ensemble music of the 17th / 18th. Century .

Four years later, in 2010, a second ECHO Klassik went to Rondeau Production. The CD Beliefs Songs - New Cantatas for the Church Year (ROP603132), which was released by the Leipzig label at the end of 2009, won the category Best Choral Work of the Year - Choir / Ensemble Music 20./21. Century awarded with the Echo Klassik 2010.
