From 1976 to 1978 he took over the artistic direction of the International Youth Choir Festival of Bayreuth . In 1978 he was appointed director of the Windsbach Boys Choir as successor to Hans Thamm . In a short time he led this ensemble to world renown.

Beringer works with well-known orchestras , in particular with the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin , the Munich Radio Orchestra and the Munich Chamber Orchestra . Since 1981 he has been a regular guest at national and international music festivals .

Because of his outstanding services to the youth, he was in 1986 by the former German President Richard von Weizsacker , the Federal Cross of Merit awarded. On February 12, 2008 Beringer received an honorary doctorate from Augustana University .

Tours

As a choir and orchestra conductor, Beringer was a regular guest at international music festivals. He has directed several performances of the “Windsbacher” at the Schaffhausen Bach Festival , the Leipzig Bach Festival , the Brandenburg Summer Concerts , the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and the Rheingau Music Festival .

Concerts with the Windsbach Boys Choir have taken him not only to other European countries (including Norway , Finland , Malta , France , Great Britain , Netherlands , Belgium , Poland , Spain , Greece ), but also to the Middle East ( Israel ) and the Far East ( China , Japan , Taiwan , Singapore ), Australia , the USA and South America ( Brazil , Argentina , Uruguay ).

Criticism of Beringer's way of working

Beringer was repeatedly accused in 2004 and 2005 by former singers of the choir, parents and staff of non-educational behavior, psychological and physical violence. His upbringing style is autocratic . The choirmaster confuses discipline with toughness. In particular, he was charged with the use of verbal injuries , the psychological “getting ready” of individual students and even physical assaults. An investigation initiated by the board of trustees of the choir ended with Beringer's discharge.

After the public prosecutor's investigations into Beringer for assaulting singers were concluded in May 2005, there were no indications that the path of togetherness that had been taken in the meantime had been abandoned. The regional church council regularly informs itself about the work of the boys' choir.

Monte Soprano Choir (former Windsbacher)

In 2016, after a long break, former singers founded a choir again under the artistic direction of Karl-Friedrich Beringer. The Monte Soprano Choir performed in the Zionshalle Hensoltshöhe Gunzenhausen , Basilica Waldsassen, Stiftsbasilika Herrieden, Stadtkirche Kitzingen and repeatedly in St. Gumbertus Ansbach. This resulted in the CDs monte soprano - male choir and monte soprano - German folk songs , as well as the CD Christ was released in collaboration with the brass ensemble Colors of Brass .
