Jörg Breiding

Jörg Breiding (* 1972 in Hanover ) is a German choir director, university professor and since 2001 director of the Hanover Boys Choir .

Life

Jörg Breiding studied school music, vocal pedagogy and German at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media . He supplemented his conducting training at the Hanover University of Music with lessons in choir and orchestral conducting with Gerd Müller-Lorenz (Lübeck) and Heinz Hennig (Hanover).

After working for one year as assistant to the founder of the choir, Heinz Hennig, he took over the management of the Hanover Boys Choir in January 2002.

From 1998 to 2005 Jörg Breiding taught as a lecturer in choral conducting at the Lübeck University of Music . Since 2005 he has been teaching as a professor for “Conducting / Choral Conducting” at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. There he founded and directs the Folkwang Concert Choir and the Folkwang Vocal Ensemble.

At national and international concert series and festivals, Jörg Breiding has performed with well-known ensembles such as the Himlische Cantorey, Concerto Palatino , London Brass , the Baroque Orchestra L'Arco, the Hannoversche Hofkapelle , the Leipzig Baroque Orchestra, Musica Alta Ripa , and the Johann Rosenmüller Ensemble Leipzig, the Ensemble Resonanz, the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover , members of the Lower Saxony State Orchestra and the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra .

Radio productions for NDR , WDR and MDR as well as numerous CD recordings document the conductor's work in the media sector. The world premiere recording "Verleih uns Frieden - Geistliche Vokalmusik by Andreas Hammerschmidt " ( Rondeau Production , 2006) and the CD "Beliefs - New Cantatas for the Church Year" (Rondeau Production, 2010) with the Hanover Boys' Choir under Jörg Breiding's direction, among others, were each recorded as Choral work recording of the year awarded the ECHO Klassik .
