The Rootshorga ( English Roots Heights ) are a mountain range in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In Sverdrupfjella they separate the Reecedalen from the Skarsdalen .

The first aerial photographs were taken during the German Antarctic Expedition (1938–1939). Norwegian cartographers mapped them using geodetic surveys and aerial photographs of the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (NBSAE, 1949–1952) and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960). Namesake is Ernest Frederick Roots (* 1923), Canadian chief geologist of the NBSAE.
