The Rosablanche , also La Rosablanche, is 3336 m above sea level. M. high mountain in the Valais Alps in Switzerland . It lies on the mountain range between the Val de Bagnes (west) and the Val d'Hérémence (east) and overlooks the Lac des Dix .
glacier
Despite its relatively low altitude, the Rosablanche is the source of an extensive glacier system. Four partly extensive, not steeply inclined ice streams are located around the Rosablanche. They are: Glacier de Sovereu , Grand Désert , Glacier de Prafleuri and Glacier de Mourti .
Mountain sports
In summer, the mountain is considered "boring" by mountaineers. The two northern normal routes start from the Grande Dixence dam in Val d'Hérémence and from Siviez in Val de Nendaz. Both places can be reached by car or public transport. The two routes, each about 5 hours, are technically rather simple, but contain very attractive glacier stretches. The route from the south begins at Fionnay in Val de Bagnes and is free of snow in summer.
In spring, the Rosablanche is visited very intensively by ski tourers , since the ascent is rewarded with pretty descents.
Huts
There are several huts in the vicinity of the Rosablanche, which are suitable as starting points for tours. From the Fionnay side it is the Cabane de Louvie in the Val de Bagnes. From the north-east side these are the Cabane de Prafleuri at 2624 m altitude, the Cabane de Ecoulaie at 2575 m and the Cabane de la Barmaz at 2458 m and from the Siviez side it is the Cabane St-Laurent at 2485 m .
