Rosalind Rowe , married to Cornett , (born April 14, 1933 in Marylebone near London, † June 15, 2015 ) was an English table tennis player who was world champion in doubles in 1951 and 1954.

Career

Rosalind Rowe was born in 1933 as a twin sister of Diane . In 1961 she won her only title at the English National Championships when she won the doubles competition with Jill Mills-Rook .

From 1951 to 1955 she was nominated for all five world championships , where she won at least two medals each time. In 1951 and 1954 she and her sister won the gold medal in doubles, which is why they were often called the Rowe twins. In 1952 , 1953 and 1955 the twins reached the doubles final.

In the ITTF world rankings , Rosalind Rowe was ranked third in 1953 and 1955.

In 1955 she edited the book The Twins on Table Tennis with her sister Diane . In the same year she married Jack Cornett and then appeared under the name Rosalind Cornett . Because of the expected offspring, she decided not to take part in the 1956 World Cup , while her sister continued her own career at a high level until 1973 and became, among other things, European champion. At the World Cup, however, the sisters' two titles remained their greatest success.

She had three children. She lived in Kent in the late 1990s.
