Rose Isle is an island in the Thames downriver from Kennington Railway Bridge and upriver from Sandford Lock , near Kennington in Oxfordshire . The island is also known as Kennington Island and St Michael's Island.
The island is covered with trees. A footbridge on the east side of the island connects the island to the mainland. The island used to be used to raise wicker . The house on the island is on the site of the Swan Hotel, which was a famous resting place by the river.
