Norbert Irtel (born April 22, 1945 ) is a former German football player on the position of a striker . For Hannover 96 he was used in two Bundesliga games in the 1967/68 season .

Career

With the amateur team from Hannover 96, Irtel was German amateur champion in 1967 . In the 1967/68 season he was in the squad of the Bundesliga club Hannover 96 . He was used in two games. He made his Bundesliga debut on January 6, 1968, the 18th matchday, in the away game at 1. FC Cologne , which Hannover lost 2-1. Irtel came on as a substitute for Otto Laszig in the 24th minute of the game and scored his first Bundesliga goal in the 48th minute by hitting the equalizer after Hannes Löhr had scored the opening goal in the 24th minute . Heinz Simmet later scored the winning goal for Cologne.

On February 17th, the 23rd matchday, he then played his second Bundesliga game, in the home game against Hamburger SV , which ended in a 2-2 draw. He was in the starting XI in this game.

Irtel later played for two years at Preußen Hameln and then for two years at TSR Olympia Wilhelmshaven in the then second -rate regional football league North . Under coach Helmut Mrosla he made his debut on August 16, 1970 in a 1-1 home draw against SV Meppen as a left winger in the Regionalliga. On the third round match day, August 30, he distinguished himself as a double scorer in the 2-1 home win against VfL Wolfsburg . At the side of teammates like goalkeeper Uwe Reese and field players Helmut Heeren , Lothar Lazar and Werner Marienfeld , he scored eight goals in 28 league games and Wilhelmshaven came in sixth. In his second season, 1971/72, another 22 games with five goals were added. Then he returned to Prussia Hameln.

With Hameln he became Lower Saxony champion in 1974 and rose to the newly created Oberliga Nord . For fifth place in the debut season 1974/75 he scored 15 goals in 29 league games under coach Rolf Paetz . In his second league year 1975/76, he added eleven goals in 31 association games. Overall, Irtel is listed in AOL Nord with 60 games with 26 goals.

He ended his career as a player-coach at TSV Rischenau in East Westphalia .

Later he also trained VfB Eimbeckhausen, SV Blau-Weiß Salzhemmendorf and Prussia Hameln 07.
