Rosemarie Klemm

Rosemarie Klemm (* 1938 ) is a German Egyptologist .

Rosemarie Klemm studied from 1957 to 1959 for a teaching post in Heidelberg and worked as a teacher in Mannheim from 1959 to 1962 . Between 1968 and 1976 she studied again, now Egyptology , Near Eastern Archeology and Prehistory and Early History at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . There she received her doctorate in 1976 with the work Egypt in the German textbook . With her husband, the geologist Dietrich D. Klemm , she worked from 1977 to 1987 on the exploration of the quarries of ancient Egypt and from 1989 to 1999 on the gold mines of ancient times in Egypt and Sudan . Since 1986 she has been a lecturer at the Institute for Egyptology at the Ludwig Maximilians University, and in 1989 and 1998 also at the University of Würzburg .

In connection with her first studies and initially practiced profession, Klemm initially dealt with the reception of ancient Egypt in school education, later she devoted herself to basic research of the mining history of ancient Egypt with Dietrich D. Klemm.
