Rosenborg Ishockeyklubb , or RIHK for short , is a Norwegian ice hockey club from Trondheim, founded in 1934 . The club's teams play their home games at Leangen Ishall .
history
The club was founded in 1934. In the following years, the team played regularly in the second-class 1st division , while the city's big ice hockey club were the Trondheim Black Panthers . After their dissolution in 2008, the Rosenborg IHK took the place of the Black Panthers within the Trondheim ice hockey community. In the 2009/10 season, the team was promoted to the GET league . In her first season in the top Norwegian league, Rosenborg immediately reached the playoffs, in which it was eliminated in the quarter-finals.
In the summer of 2014, Rosenborg did not receive a license for the GET-ligaen and subsequently stopped playing for the professional team. Since the professional department was operated by a company that was independent of the association, the association remained unaffected and since then has been exclusively working with young talent.
