Rosenfelde ( pronunciation ? / I ) is a former settlement area in the later district of Lichtenberg in Berlin, which arose in the 13th century and existed as an independent village until January 25, 1699. Audio file / audio sample

The village of Rosenfelde was first mentioned in a document on April 2, 1265. It developed around a village church made of stone, and later a manor was built. In 1319 it came into the possession of the Ryke patrician family. Around 1590 the estate became largely sovereign and came into the possession of Joachim Ernst von Grumbkow under the Great Elector . The entire settlement was gradually bought up between 1682 and 1695 by the General Director of the Kurbrandenburg Navy , the Dutch-born Benjamin Raule . In 1685 the new owner donated a representative manor house, which later became Friedrichsfelde Palace .

Was as Raule because of opaque financial transactions during his electors out of favor, the settlement Rosenfelde came in electoral owned and was in 1699 by the future King I. Friedrich in Friedrichsfelde renamed.

From an administrative point of view, it then belonged to the Köpenick office .

The names Rosenfelder Straße and Rosenfelder Ring are still reminiscent of this village today.
