The Roskilde Fjord is a fjord that runs in the north of the Danish island of Zealand from the Isefjord on the Kattegat south to Roskilde .

Important municipalities and places are on the east bank next to Roskilde Frederikssund , Frederiksværk , Ølsted and Hundested , which is partly already on the Isefjord in the north, and on the west bank Skibby and Jægerspris . At the shallowest point is the Skuldelev Ship Cemetery .

The Roskilde Fjord is connected to the Arresø by a canal that was started around 1717 by Danish soldiers and Swedish prisoners of war.
