Ross Hook

Ross Sydney Hook (born February 19, 1917 , † June 26, 1996 in Blandford Forum ) was a British Anglican bishop .

life and career

Hook received his first training at the Bluecoat School in Horsham and later at the Peterhouse in Cambridge . He was ordained a priest in 1942.

After World War II , Hook joined the War Reserve and later became chaplain of Ridley Hall . Hook served several parishes until 1965 and was eventually suffragan bishop of Lincoln as Bishop of Grantham .

In 1972 he came to Bradford as bishop and remained there until his retirement in 1980. From 1975 to 1980 he was also a spiritual lord member of the House of Lords .

Ross Hook was married to Ruth Biddell. Together they had a daughter and a son.
