Ross Kemp
Ross Kemp (born July 21, 1964 in Barking , Essex , England ) is a British actor and investigative journalist . In 1999 he received the British Soap Award for "Best Actor". He has been an investigative journalist since 2006.
Life
Childhood and family
Ross Kemp was born in 1964 to the hairdresser Jean and the Metropolitan Police officer John. He attended Shenfield High School , where he was remembered as an excellent athlete.
Career
He has wanted to be an actor since he was a child. He studied acting at the Webber Douglas Academy in London, which he left in 1985. His first paid TV appearance was in 1986 as Graham Lodsworth on the soap opera Emmerdale . His best-known role was that of Grant Mitchell in the BBC series EastEnders , for which he also received his award in 1999.
Kemp became known to a wide audience through his investigative reporting, including Ross Kemp on Gangs and Ross Kemp in Afghanistan . For the latter report, he spent several months as an " embedded journalist " with combat units of the British forces in the province of Helmand in Afghanistan go. During a report in Papua New Guinea , he and his film crew were ambushed by armed men trying to rob Kemp. However, he stayed “cool” and mastered the situation.
Partnerships
Since June 11, 2002 he was married to the British journalist Rebekah Wade . This marriage was divorced on March 6, 2009. He has been married to Renee O'Brien since 2012, with whom he has a son. He has another son (* 2010) from a previous relationship with Nicole Coleman.
