In 1959 the building was bought by local judge Herndon Inge, Jr, who lived there for more than 40 years. On December 30th, Ross Knox House was added to the National Register of Historic Places .

architecture

The brick and stucco house is considered one of the finest examples of the Tudor Revival style in Alabama by the Alabama Historical Commission . Although the front facade gives the appearance of a single-story cottage, the rear reveals an entire second story. Steep gables, stucco-filled half-timbering, casement windows and protruding chimneys can be seen under the external components.
