Troy Verges

Troy Verges is a country music songwriter . He was nominated for both a Golden Globe and an Oscar .

Life

Troy Verges grew up in Louisiana and played guitar since he was 10 and in bands from 14. After high school , he moved to Murfreesboro , Tennessee to study music economics at Middle Tennessee State University . After a while he moved to Belmont University in Nashville . It was here that he began writing songs before he even graduated. The starting point was an internship at the music production company Patrick Joseph Music . He received his first recording contract shortly before graduating from Belmont University.

He wrote chart music for Jessica Andrews , Martina McBride , Hunter Hayes , Carrie Underwood , Kenny Chesney and Kellie Pickler . He wrote songs for stars like Taylor Swift , Bon Jovi and Celine Dion .
