Roswith Roth

Roswith Roth (born June 4, 1944 in Stainach-Pürgg ) is an Austrian health psychologist, psychological gender researcher and university professor .

life and work

Roth passed his matriculation examination in Graz in 1962 and began studying architecture at the Graz University of Technology . In 1968 she married Gerhard Roth and their first daughter was born in 1968 and son in 1971. From 1973 to 1980 she studied psychology at the University of Graz , did her doctorate in 1980 and completed her habilitation in 1993. She then was an associate professor at the Institute for Psychology at the Karl-Franzens University Graz and worked as a trained psychotherapist. In 1999 she was visiting professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock , in 2004 she was appointed university professor and in 2005 she was visiting professor at Hiroshima University in Japan . In addition to membership in several scientific societies, she was President of the International Council of Psychologists from 2000 to 2001. Her areas of work and publications deal, among other things, with the areas of gender research , equality , women's health, psychological and ethical aspects in the prediction and prevention of type 1 diabetes .
