Pestel belonged to the SSG Bergisch Gladbach , for which she was active as a midfielder . During her club membership she won the German championship twice . On June 24, 1979, she played the second leg against FC Bayern Munich, which was held in the An der Paffrather Strasse stadium . In this game, which was won 1-0, she came on as a substitute for Elisabeth Lesnik in the 57th minute. She played her second final of the German championship on June 15, 1980 again in the home stadium; the game against KBC Duisburg was won 5-0.
