In the CAN-AM Spyder it produces a maximum of 79 kW (106 PS ) in the RS version and 74.5 kW (100 PS) in the RT version with a displacement of 998 cm³. For the CAN-AM Spyder it is supplied with a sequentially electronically controlled 5-speed gearbox as well as with a sequential manual 5-speed gearbox with reverse gear.

A manual 6-speed gearbox with a vacuum-controlled slipper clutch has always been used for Aprilia motorcycles . All Rotax V990s installed by Aprilia have dry sump lubrication .
