The Rote Kouhl nature reserve is located in the municipality of Roetgen .

description

The area concerns an area, which is characterized by spruce afforestation and clear cutting, within the Roetgen Forest. In the western part there are ponds rich in water vegetation, which are fed by spring streams. Another body of water lies west of the forest path, here you can find peat moss. To the south, peat moss and star sedge have settled on an area cleared of spruce , which indicates re- bog . The value for nature protection in the Rote Kouhl area lies in the development potential with regard to re-bog by closing drainage ditches.
