The Rothener See is an inland body of water in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is located in the Sternberg lake landscape south of Rothen , about nine kilometers southeast of Sternberg in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district .
The Rothener See belongs to the municipality of Borkow on the border with the municipality of Mustin . Its shape describes a semicircle with a broad swampy southern part. The lake is about 1200 meters long and about 950 meters wide. In the southeast, a ditch flows from Lake Bolzer . The area between the two lakes is also swampy. The Mildenitz river flows into the lake in the south, only to leave it in the northwest. South of the water, the heights with the Niehöfer Berg reach 53.3 m above sea level. NHN .
The Rothen manor house is not far from the western shore of the lake .
