Rothsee describes a natural body of water in the municipality of Weilheim in Upper Bavaria near the neighboring part of the municipality of Eberfing of the same name. The lake forms with the Mitterlache , the Haarsee and the Weiher Gumpenau a chain of lakes in the Eberfinger Drumlinfeld . It also forms the source of the Hardtbach .
Gut Rothsee above is named after the lake . It was first mentioned in 1349 as the Schwaige of Polling Monastery .
