The red sea anemonefish ( Amphiprion bicinctus ) lives in the coral reefs of the Red Sea , the Gulf of Aden and the Chagos Archipelago .

The body of the fish is brown on the flanks, the underside, the head and the fins are orange. Two broad, white-blue horizontal stripes run across the body, the first directly behind the eye, the second beginning in the middle of the dorsal fin . The dorsal fin has nine to ten hard and 15 to 17 soft rays, the anal fin has two hard and 13 to 14 soft rays. Amphiprion bicinctus becomes up to 14 centimeters long. It has already been bred in the aquarium.

The fish accept five symbiotic anemone species as partners.
