Round Island (also: Île Ronde ) is an island of the Republic of the Seychelles , just a few hundred meters east of the island of Praslin .
geography
The island at the exit of Baie Ste Anne and Anse La Farine is densely overgrown. A regular mountain cone rises from there to a height of 75 m . The island belongs to the Baie Sainte Anne district .
There used to be a stock of the endemic Seychelles palm (Lodoicea), but it was cut down for the cultivation of coconut palm for the production of copra . The island is in private hands. There is a small luxury resort as well as the owner's private buildings.
