Matthias Wörndle (born December 7, 1909 in Partenkirchen , † October 15, 1942 in the Krasnodar region on the Pschisch , Soviet Union ; today Russia ) was a German cross-country skier and mountaineer .

Career

Matthias Wörndle took part in the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . In the 50 km race , he finished 24th.

In addition to cross-country skiing, Matthias Wörndle was active as a ski mountaineer and won bronze medals at the Trofeo Mezzalama in 1933 and 1934.

In 1942 he fell on the Eastern Front during World War II .
