In 2011 Rowa achieved sales of approx. 64 million euros, making it one of the 100 companies with the highest sales in Rhineland-Palatinate. Rowa was integrated into the American medical technology company CareFusion, San Diego, in 2011.

history

CareFusion 326 GmbH (formerly Rowa Automatisierungssysteme GmbH) was founded in 1996 by Rudolf Wagner and Markus Willems. The management was expanded in 2006 by Dirk Wingenter and in 2009 by Christian Klas. Jean-Michel Deckers has been part of the management team since 2011.

The business idea arose from the suggestion of a pharmacist couple who wanted to make the work processes of the pharmacy easier. In 1997 the first automated warehouse was installed in a pharmacy in Dresden, and to this day 4,000 pharmacies and hospitals around the world are using Rowa systems. At the world exhibition Expo 2000, the pharmacy of the future "PharmaXie" was equipped with a picking system from Rowa.

Products

Rowa produces and sells automatic warehouses for pharmacies. These systems are manufactured individually for each pharmacy or each hospital and store the drug boxes chaotically according to size and height class, like in a high-bay warehouse .

In addition, there are extensions such as fully automatic storage or an advisory and dispensing terminal for pharmacies, in which the patient is advised via video conference and the medication dispensed remotely. This so-called Visavia system is legally controversial in Germany and, according to a ruling by the Federal Administrative Court (Az. 3 C 30.09 and 31.09), it was only permitted in part functions. The terminal is used in full abroad.
