William Roy Brien (born November 11, 1930 in Stoke-on-Trent , † January 27, 1987 in Rochdale ) was an English football player .

Career

Brien came in May 1951 to the Stoke-based third division club Port Vale and was there in the next few years mostly for the reserve team in the Cheshire County League . His only competitive appearance for the first team Brien had in April 1954 in an away game at Rochdale AFC . As a left runner instead of Roy Sprosson , he formed the runner row with Albert Mullard and Albert Leake . With a 0-0 Port Vale secured the championship of the 1953/54 season of the Third Division North in this game . After another season he left the club in the summer of 1955.
