Career
His career began when Moss met songwriter Jimmie Skinner . Skinner put Moss on the radio station WNOP. He performed there regularly with the band The Country Partners . Impressed by Elvis Presley's appearances in the KWKH Louisiana Hayride , Moss switched to rockabilly in 1954. Presley helped Moss appear on the nationally broadcast Hayride. Through Skinner and Lou Epstein, who were also his managers, Moss received a recording contract with Mercury Records . His first single there was the Skinner song You're My Big Baby Now , which was released in January 1956. A second single was released in May of the same year. For the next three years, Moss stayed away from admission studies. Instead, he's had the chance to work with country stars like Pee Wee King , Cowboy Copas and Ray Price . Moss now lived in Detroit , Michigan , where he appeared on various television and radio shows. Moss toured with the Jimmie Skinner Show , a live road show, for a while.
In 1958 Moss released another single, Juanita , on the smaller Fascination label. The song was later covered by Dale Hawkins on his first album. In the late 1950s, Moss retired from the music scene and worked as a farmer in Tennessee . It wasn't until 1994 that Moss dared to come back with guitarist Johnny Patterson. An album was also released on Eagle Records.
