The Royal Gibraltar Regiment is a territorial unit of the British overseas territory Gibraltar and the only surviving unit of the Gibraltar garrison of the British Army . It was set up in 1958 by the Gibraltar Defense Force as light infantry with a staff and supply company and three rifle companies as well as integrated artillery with L118 field howitzers. Two of the rifle companies are active, one is a reserve company with reservists.
