The Royal Museums Greenwich is a Royal Charter not-for-profit foundation dedicated to the management of four museums in Greenwich , London . The Royal Museums Greenwich Foundation is a non-profit foundation in the form of a Private Limited Company by Guarantee with company number 08002287, which was founded on March 22, 2012. The company is run by a foundation under Anglo-Welsh law No. 1147279.

The purpose of the foundation is to support non-profit organizations that are committed to educating the public in matters of seas, ships, time and the stars. The primary objects of the foundation are four museums in Greenwich, the National Maritime Museum with objects on seafaring, the art collection in Queen's House , the Royal Greenwich Observatory , through which the prime meridian runs, and the sailing ship Cutty Sark .

The three-person board corresponds to the owners' meeting and is chaired by a chairman. In general, the board meets twice a year. The board makes all strategic decisions of the foundation. Board members are nominated by the National Maritime Museum's Board of Trustees .

The task of the Board of Trustees is to prepare the annual financial statements and all of the related activities. In addition, the board is responsible for the use of the foundation's capital.
