Royal de Luxe
Royal de Luxe is a street theater company from Nantes , France. They often use smaller and larger technical toys for their spectacles. Examples are several meter high marionettes (“le Géant” and “la Petite Géante”) and a life-size mechanical elephant (“L'Élephant”).
history
The group around Jean-Luc Courcoult was founded in Aix-en-Provence in 1979 . In the 1980s the group was in Toulouse , which they left in 1989 due to a lack of financial support. Since then, Nantes has been the base of the group. The performances of Royal de Luxe are often accompanied by the band Les Balayeurs du désert ( The road sweepers of the desert ).

- Since 1993, a series of performances with giant puppets in various cities in Europe, Africa and South America: Le Géant tombé du ciel (1993), Le Géant tombé du ciel: dernier voyage (1994), Retour d'Afrique (1998), Les chasseurs de girafe (2000), La visite du sultan des Indes / L'éléphant et la Petite Géante (2005–2007). From 1 to 4 October 2009, the puppet show was held under the title The Berlin Reunion series of events marking the 20th anniversary as part of the Berlin Wall in the German capital instead.
- Two Shakespeare plays simultaneously on a rotating stage (2004)
- La Révolte des Mannequins (the revolt of the mannequins). After Charleville-Mézières , Nantes , Maastricht , Amiens , Anvers , Calais and Tokyo , this production with mannequins was also shown in Berlin in November 2008.
- Sea Odyssey: Giant Spectacular (2012) in Liverpool to mark the 100th anniversary of the Titanic disaster.
