Rubén Darío Palacios
Rubén Darío Palacios (sometimes Palacio * 1. December 1962 in La Sierra (Antioquia) , Colombia ; † 14. November 2003 in Medellín ) was a Colombian boxer in the featherweight .

He was Colombian champion in his 11th fight. In 1988 he won the WBA -Fedelatin title and defended it twice. On September 26th in 1992 he defeated the British Colin McMillan by technical knockout in round 8 and was thereby world champion of the WBO . After this win, Palacios ended his career and resigned as world champion.
Private
The AIDS -kranke Palacios became the Narcotraficante of heroin sentenced and 1994 to ten years in prison, of which he had to serve for several years. On November 14, 2003, he was found dead in San Antonio Park in central Medellín. He was buried in the local cemetery Jardines de la Fé.
