Rubén Elosegui

Rubén Elosegui (born November 24, 1925 in La Plata ; † 1991 ibid) was an Argentine sculptor and painter .

Elosegui studied at the Facultad de Bellas Artes of the Universidad Nacional de La Plata . Here he began teaching as a lecturer in 1956 and eventually became a professor of sculpture. He also taught sculpture from 1972 to 1980 at the Escuela Nacional “Prilidiano Puyrredón” and from 1980 to 1982 at the Escuela Superior “Ernesto de la Cárcova” . In 1974 he became head of the plastic department and member of the advisory board of the Facultad de Bellas Artes.

In addition to modern metal welding work, Elosegui also created sculptures from marble. In 1959 he took part in the First Youth Biennale of the Musée d'art moderne de la Ville de Paris . In the same year he received first prize at the Salón de San Fernando and the gold medal at the Salón de Santa Fe . In 1967 and 1968 he was a laureate of the Salón Municipal de Plata .
