Rudbar (Administrative District)
Rudbar (Persian:شهرستان رودبار, Gilanki: رۊبارˇ شهرستان, Tati: rubâr ) is an administrative district in the Iranian province of Gilan . The county’s capital is Rudbar . At the 2006 census, the county had 101,884 residents in 27,902 families.
The county has seven cities: Rudbar , Barehsar, Jirandeh, Lowshan, Manjil, Rostamabad, and Tutkabon.
Languages and religions
As everywhere in Gilan Province , many people speak Gilanki as their mother tongue, an Iranian language related to Persian . In addition, some people spoke Tati, also an Iranian language, plus a few other minority languages (e.g. Azerbaijani ). Persian is spoken by almost everyone either as a mother tongue or as a second language. In addition to small minorities, the entire population is Shiite .
